"A little background on us and what we aim to achieve"
The 1st Sunderland Girls' Brigade, based at Fulwell Methodist Church is our local company of The Girls' Brigade England & Wales, an international organisation, aimed at enriching the lives of girls.
Our company consists of a group of lively individual girls from the age of 5 to 21 who come together each week to have fun, make friends, and inspire each other to learn more about themselves and how to be successful young woman in society.
During the year we undertake many activities for each of the different sections of the company, we follow a national programme for each age group called n:vestigate, n:gage, n:counta, & n:spire. You can find out more about your specific age group by looking in our Sections Menu or by contacting us at info@1stsunderlandgb.org.uk, if the details you need cannot be found.
The activities we do on a company evening (usually a Friday) mainly relate to a specific track, but take on many styles; as you will see from the activities that we do each week.
The girls brigade is a uniformed organisation and we at Fulwell pride ourselves on giving each girl a sense of belonging to the
company by wearing our uniform. The uniform gives social equality to all the girls giving the youngest to the oldest a chance to
interact and have a good time on an equal footing. Details of our uniform can be found on the Uniform Page.
Our company meets each Friday at Fulwell Methodist Church during school team time at the following time:
